We make GoldenHour, so we're biased. We included it where it genuinely fits. For the other apps, we only describe what their own Google Play listings say (checked 7 October 2026), plus PetaPixel's note on FIMO's film packs. All of them are on Google Play.
FIMO is built around choosing a film roll and shooting through it. Its listing highlights dust and scratches, retro colors, flickering, light leaks and even frame shakes. PetaPixel notes that extra film stocks are bought individually, and each can be tried first.

OldRoll offers a big catalogue of classic camera styles, from instant cameras and fisheye lenses to Super 8mm-style video cams. It also has editing tools: film filters, curves, soft glow, grain, retro flash and double exposure.

OMO Roll (shown as “Dazzil Cam” in some regions) applies film presets, light leaks and grain in real time, with FXNR, CPM35 and CCD looks, names Dazz Cam users will recognize. That’s why it comes up so often in “Dazz Cam on Android” searches.
10M+ downloads. Contains ads and in-app purchases.
ProCCD focuses on early-2000s CCD digital cameras: their colors, flash and a pixel-style camera interface. Pick it if you want 2000s digicam photos rather than film.
10M+ downloads. Contains ads and in-app purchases.
NOMO CAM is designed so casual photographers can focus on taking pictures instead of retouching. More cameras come with a NOMO PRO membership.
5M+ downloads. In-app purchases.
Huji Cam gives a single disposable-style camera with light leaks and a retro date stamp. Huji's listing says it is an independent app and is not affiliated with Fujifilm. 1998 Cam goes wider, with 100+ film filters, analog effects and vintage video effects.
Huji Cam: 10M+ downloads. 1998 Cam: 100K+ downloads. Both contain ads and in-app purchases.
GoldenHour is a small, independent Android app (that's us). Every film can be tuned in the Develop Lab: exposure, contrast, curve, temperature, saturation, film grain, halation, light leaks, vignette and subject pop. You then save the result to your Preset Vault and share it as a link. 13 films are free, including Kodak Gold 200, Fuji Superia 400 and Ilford HP5 Plus. Free users can save 3 custom filters; Pro unlocks all 50 films and unlimited filters. Saved photos never carry a watermark, and processing happens on your phone.
Film and CCD are different looks. Film is soft, with organic grain and halation. CCD is sharp, noisy and flash-heavy.

Questions & Answers
Not officially; Dazz Cam is an iOS app, and Google Play results using the name come from other developers. OMO Roll offers similarly named looks (FXNR, CPM35), and GoldenHour has a Dazz Cam alternative guide.
All the apps here are free to download, with in-app purchases. In GoldenHour, 13 films are free (including Kodak Gold 200, Fuji Superia 400 and Ilford HP5 Plus) and saved photos never carry a watermark.
A film camera app applies the look while you shoot, through a live viewfinder. A filter app edits photos afterwards. Most apps here do both, including importing photos from your gallery.
